What You Need to Know About Online Notarization
Online Notary Services are legal
Because of Covid-19, the Government of Ontario has permitted legal official public and commissioning services to be given online in Ontario.
Requirements
- Your document must already be in electronic format or if it is a paper copy you must have a scanner to scan and create an electronic copy.
- You must have access to a phone or computer / laptop with a webcam. We use Zoom as our web conferencing program, if you want online notary services please check how to use zoom for video conferencing.
- You must have two pieces of valid government issued ID, examples include driver’s licence or passport.
You do not have to be in Ontario
Subsection 45(2) of the Ontario Evidence Act provides that an affidavit sworn outside Ontario before a commissioner for taking affidavits in Ontario has the same effect as if the affidavit had been sworn in Ontario.
Translation
We offer our Translation services from Punjabi & Hindi to English translation for official legal documents that include Birth, Death, and Marriage certificates. We provide translated documents with a stamp of attestation.
Legal Name Change
We offer legal name change services including full name additions, deletions, and changes. As Commissioners of Oaths, we endorse documents and affidavits.
Documents we don’t notarize:
- Wills
- Powers of Attorney
- Documents relating to family law matters
